Broad Haven to Newgale

I had a pretty good night’s sleep last night. As it was dark by 8:30 and the dew set in, I sat in the tent reading for a while, but by 9:45 I was asleep! I got up at 07:00 fully refreshed and no real aches or pains!

After I updated the blog last night,  my host decided to clean the toilet facilities,! I think he thought he was cleaning out the cowshed, because he just opened the door to each cubicle and blasted them with a jet wash! There was no chemicals or wiping down involved. Oh no, just a quick hose down and leave the thing to dry!  I forgot to mention the farmer before. He was the Welsh equivalent of Gerald! I thought originally it was because he was Welsh speaking, but I later heard the family chatting away in English! ‘Gerald’ gave me directions for a shortcut to Dale village. The trouble was, I couldn’t understand a bloody word he said and subsequently got hopelessly lost!

Anyway, after packing up this morning, I walked from the campsite back to Marloes village. It was only a couple of miles, but had a lot of hills to negotiate.

Once in Marloes I bought a coffee and sausage roll from the shop. I then caught the ‘Puffin Shuttle’ bus to Broad Haven. It was a very popular little bus, which was full by the time we got to BH.

Once I alighted, I joined the coast path again and headed north.

Immediately I was climbing steep hill and working off that sausage roll!

The sun came out just as I was starting and soon it was a cloudless sky! As per usual, there was much to see! This was Nolton Haven.

I stopped at the bottom for lunch.

As it was so hot and sunny I was hoping for a thirst quenching pint at the pub, but just my luck it was closed on a Monday!

Yet again, some of the geology was amazing. I wish I’d paid more attention at school during my geography A Level ( which I failed) and I might be able to explain it to you!

After lunch there was a series of uphill and down dales to negotiate, which made me a right sweaty mess! However, the views of Newgale Sands were pretty spectacular!
After a while, the path dropped down onto the beach and I walked the last mile on the sands!
I am staying at a campsite behind the beach. It is quite busy, but has an on-site snack cabin and pub next door, so I should be ok!
